The Importance of Recycling

The more we recycle, the less trash ends up in landfills. But this process requires a commitment from all of us to reuse materials like plastic, aluminum, paper, and glass. Together, we can achieve saved production and energy costs along with reduced negative environmental impacts

Since carpet consists of fibers, plastics, and chemicals that are difficult to break down in landfills, recycling is better. Recycling breaks down the rug into raw components, allowing the reuse of old parts in new products.

California also has a robust commitment to recycling and environmental sustainability. Statewide initiatives like Cal Recycle encourage residents to recycle various household materials like carpets and businesses to reuse them. If your business uses post-consumer carpet, you may qualify for funds from AB 2398. See the CalRecycle carpet recycling program for more information.
